Vivian strolled idly through the Hogwarts halls, glancing curiously at everything around her. She smiled, thinking to herself that she looked exactly like the typical tourist-like firstie. Vivian entered her Transfig. class, smiling broadly at the amount of people already in there.

"Early birds, I see," she joked, sitting down in the second row and carelessly throwing her books and bag down on the desktop. Sprawling in the seat, the Ravenclaw's grin broadened. "Hey... I found some new faces."

Vivian stared at the two kids decked out in Hufflepuff garb, waving a hand simply. "Well hi there." She then nodded towards Marcus. "What's up Marc?"

Lynx walked into the classroom and saw most of the students had arrived, he walked up to the board and picked up a piece of chalk and wrote on the board Switching Spell he then turned around and smiled at the students

"Ok class, so who can tell me about the Switching Spell?" He asked looking around the class

Last lesson of the year, Charlotte thought as she walked to Transfiguration, somewhat happy because of that. She would miss the school terribly, but she was a bit homesick. And it would mean she could sleep better, without having dreams of that night. Or at least she hoped.

Taking a seat next to Vivian, she apologized to the professor and tried to pay attention to class, not really in the mood for answering questions.

Vivian smiled to Charlotte when she sat down. Then, looking back up at the board, she hummed in thought. She'd heard of switching, her grandmother had told her it was a subdivision of Transfiguration spells. Supposedly, it made objects trade characteristics simultaneously. The change in one object also depended on the transformation in the other... but this was something she wasn't sure was true. Her memories had always been fuzzy.

Sure of only the definition, Vivian raised her hand, declaring, "The switching spell exchanges the physical features between the two objects it's cast on."

Lynx nodded at Vivian " Yes Miss Hawthorne that is absoulutely correct, im very impressed" Lynx then went behind his desk and pulled out a cage of mice and grinned at the class

"Ok class so today we will be switching our ears with that of the mice, now to cast the spell you must hold your wand firmly in your hand and give it a sharp swish, and focus on the particular feature you would like to switch. So because this is a wordless spell it is highly important your really concentrate on the feature you want to switch"

Lynx then opened the lid of the mice cage and looked back at his students " Alright then, everybody come up and get there mouse"

Vivian shuddered slightly as she got her mouse. Clutching the tiny creature tightly, she thought about how it was likely just as freaked out as she was. To be perfectly honest, she didn't really want to have the mouse's ears. It was more than a little weird. Still, she mustered her courage anyways. It wouldn't be for too long.

Vivian set the mouse on her desk and sat down facing it. She took out her wand and practiced the movements first, sharply flicking it down. The Ravenclaw took a breath and concentrated on the mouse, picturing its ears. She grimaced a little at the thought of her own ears being switched with the mouse's.

Vivian heard the mouse squeak and looked down at it. Startled, she saw that the mouse was missing its ears. The Ravenclaw put down her wand quickly and cautiously felt her own ears to feel that they were oddly fuzzy.

"Well, at least it worked," Vivian thought bitterly. She waited anxiously for the other students to succeed as well. The sooner they did, the quicker she could get her own ears back. Vivian was starting to pity the mouse, which was running around in circles on her desk.
