Lesson 4 2nd years

Valerie walked into Astronomy and looked around. The teacher or students weren't here yet. Valerie looked at the clock on the wall and saw she was a couple minutes early for the class. Valerie shrugged her shoulders and took an empty seat close to the front. She didn't like to be all the way in the front but close enough was fine in her eyes.

Airiana climbed up the Astronomy Tower stairs and peeked inside, her blonde hair falling in a messy braid along her shoulder. Through the day, it had gone from smooth to extremely frizzy. Whatever the reason, it was a minor detail. She sat down in a seat closest to the exit, pulling out a small book that her brother had lent her in the hallway before the last class. It was supposed to be a romance novel and so far it was pretty okay. Quietly she read as she waited for the lesson to begin.

Colin walked into the room, and looked at the two girls, "Hello, hello, good to see you all. Now if everyone would please aquire a telescope, today we are going to be doing a practical lesson."

Colin went to the front of the room and waited for the girls to get set up.

Airiana did as she was told, bouncing over to acquire a telescope obediently. She didn't bounce too much on the way back to where she had been standing as, considering she was a little clumsy from time to time, she didn't want to drop it. Carefully she set it up on the tripod that held it up and she turned back to Professor O'Brian with wide, expectant eyes as she waited for further instructions.

Valerie heard someone come in and turned to see the same girl from before. Before Valerie could speak a word the professor came in and Valerie listened to his directions. Valerie got up from her seat and went to a telescope that was set in the room for the class. Valerie waited for further instructions.

Colin clapped his hands together.

"Alright, I will be bewitchign the room shortly to show us some examples of the night sky, so I can show some specific things I want you all to be able to look for, but for the moment, lets make sure we all have our telescopes set up properly."


He began to walk about the room so he could watch the girls more closely, make sure it was done right.

"Now We'll want to make sure that they are steady on their legs, these telescopse, are much smaller than some that the Muggle world may be used to, they do fight right on you're desks, however they have been bewitched to be much stronger."

"Now, once that is done, you may attach the eyepiece, since we will be viewing directly, however, it is good to note, that you do not wish to attach this bit of the telescope until you are absolutely ready to use the instrument."
