Keep Calm and Brew | Lesson 4 Year 3 Empty Keep Calm and Brew | Lesson 4 Year 3

Kendera was the first one to enter the Potions and Antidotes classroom, which was perfectly fine by her. She found herself stifling a yawn - it was almost as though she'd been awake half the night, but she knew for a fact she'd gone to bed early.

Shaking off her mysterious fatigue, she took a seat near the the front of the classroom and began to take out her potions supplies.

Faye snuck into the Potions classroom quitely, and looked around. It was empty except for one other person.

She frowned slightly and then put a polite smile on her face.

"Hello Kendera," her soft voice cut the silence, and she hovered in the middle of the room awkwardly for a few moments before shaking her head and slipping into a seat behind the other Slushatel.

Kendera paused in her routine of setting up her supplies as Faye greeted her. Did people usually greet her? Kendera didn't really pay attention. She didn't think they did, usually. The girl wasn't sure how she felt about this realization.

"Hello," she returned simply. The fourteen-year-old finished setting out her things, then abruptly spoke up again, gaze fixed forward. "You learn more if you're closer to the front of the room. Less distractions."

After a long moment, she shrugged a shoulder to show that it didn't matter to her one way or another. If she was the only one closest to the front, she'd have less distractions herself. Kendera was fine sitting by herself. She preferred it.

    Didn't she?

Rose wandered into the room wincing as she looked around. "Good morning Faye" she said in a soft, strained and quiet voice. "and Kendera" she added in a hushed whisper in the same tone loud enough for them to hear.

She looked around and slipped into the desk next to them, not really wanting someone to be close to her for once.

Faye frowned slight for a moment at the girls words. Unsure if they were....

She had never really seen Kendera as the reaching out type however... the girl seemed nice enough, and Faye couldn't really see any reason not to..

"I suppose it couldn't hurt to learn better could it," she said softly taking her things and moving slowly into the seat next to the girl at the front of the room. "Thank you for the tip."

She turned her head at the new voice, "Morning Rose." She frowned slightly as the girl seemed more... resereved than she had last time they spoke.

Kas grinned as he bounced into the room, "Oh goodie! Students! I hope you're already to get right into learning... apparently I need to actually teach things."

He gave a little laugh and stopped near the front of the room leaning against the wall.

"Calming draft - anyone got some fun facts for me?" He grinned.

A pleased little smile pulled at Kendera's lips as Faye moved to sit beside her and the girl ducked her head a bit to hide it. It was a silly thing, after all, being so ridiculously pleased to have someone sit next to a person.

"Good morning," Kendera responded to Rose with significantly more warmth than was usual for the girl. She frowned a bit at the newcomer, but decided not to ask any questions.

"Calming draughts are calming people after they suffered some sort shock or upset," she promptly answered the professors query.

Mystic was a little mad at herself for being late to her classes today, something had happened at home and she was not in the mood to do anything. But she went to class anyway because she did not want to get into any more trouble than she already was.

Walking into potions she went in as quiet as she could and found a seat in the back hoping not to be noticed.

Mystic noticed that the teacher was going to be teaching about the calming draft today, and that was a potion she sure could use right now.

"Oh look another student!! Please, please, come in - take a seat, we're just getting started. Better hurry up before we miss something exciting."

"Thank you Kendera! That is most acurate - Points all around."

He made sure the instructions were up before clapping his hand.

"Brewing, brewing, brewing. Lets go! Chop, chop, fun stuff."

Roman rushed over to a desk with a quick, "Sorry, professor!", hurriedly set up his cauldron and, glancing up at the board, grabbed the required ingredients. He took a deep breath and looked at what he had in front of him.

The boy quickly set to work with the potion, working with his usual care and precision. Being able to focus on one thing clearly for once was a huge relief.

Mystical really did enjoy this teacher he always seemed to be in a good mood every class.

Mystic set to work on the potion, gathering all of her ingredients and began to work on chopping up the proper things while the base potion warmed up in the cauldron.

Mystic was looking around the room looking at the other people in the room and knowing that she needed to make some friends it was getting pretty lonely on her own.

Roman held up a filled vial of potion, holding it up to the light to see if the consistency was right. He nodded to himself and walked up to the teacher, handing him the vial.

He walked back to his desk and started packing up his things.
