    Fallen Angel Empty Fallen Angel

Ksenia glanced over her shoulder once again, her pace remaining swift as she walked down the Muggle street of Moscow. The sun has set a couple hours ago and the people were rushing home from work, eager to leave the offices and worries behind. It was easy to blend in with the crowd especially after the girl left her robes somewhere in an alley that she had passed ten minutes ago. But that still left her in a dress, something that was definitely not the best choice of clothing for swift movement.

The Slushatel's wand slipped smoothly into her palm as she stepped into a especially dense crowd. "Watch it!" a man snarled at her as he pushed past her, his arm narrowly missing her nose. She didn't pay any attention to him as she ducked slightly, whispering the summoning charm under her breath as she pointed her wand at an overly extravagant purse that was passing to her right. Seconds later, Ksenia was holding a wallet in her hand that was filled with more then enough Muggle bills to buy her an outfit.

Perfect. The girl ducked once again, dropping the wallet on the ground as she went, the money she needed safely in her pocket, to separate herself from the busy crowd and come to walk right beside the shop-fronts. Ksenia's eyes scanned the items on display quickly as she continued her fast pace. She turned a corner, entering a smaller street with not as many people and cheaper shops. A couple girls her own were exiting a store with bags of clothes in their hands, that was the only prompt the Slushatel needed. She slowed her step and straightened her posture before entering the store.

About ten minutes later she was on the street again, the dress she was wearing before deposited in the bag that would be dropped onto the ground and forgotten about two minutes later. Another corner was turned, the girl's steps casual this time. She was returning once again to Magical streets quite a distance away from where she had left them. A low tune of triumph settled itself on her lips as she walked through the back dark alleyways that connected the two worlds together. This was the last place that Ksenia would find herself on a regular day, but this day was different. She had a point to make and she would be sure to be heard.

A smirk spread itself across her lips and her hips swung slightly as she heard men whistle behind her. So far, so good. Now it was a matter of finding somewhere or someone to have a little of fun with.

Tre was still laying low, easily ducking between the mobsters looking for him and the ones on watch nearly everywhere he went. Lucky for him, he knew this part of the mob's layout backwards forward, and could nearly trace the randomized watch patterns in his sleep. It was this that made him easy going, what kept him moving. He did, however, need some money.

This was how he found himself pushing a lawn mower over the last line of grass in the massive city park, sweat dripping down his bare chest as the sun bore down upon him. The sun glinted off the dark tattoo on his back as he finished moving, the law mower's sound cutting off suddenly. He straightened, pulling a bottle of water out and chugging half of it, pulling off his Phillies cap and wiping the sweat off his forehead. He rolled his shoulders, his muscles rippling underneath his skin as he stretched.

The satisfaction of working hard was something used to distract him. Now that that was done... well....

    He'd need something else.

Another corner was turned and the Slushatel was making her way down a wider street this time. A small park was to her right; Ksenia scanned her surrounding briefly before making her way across the road and to the freshly cut grass. There a few people on there, a couple children playing, a few couples just walking. It looked calm, so different from the alleyways that she had just been walking through.

She imagined members of the Mafia trying to hunt her down somewhere. the certainly wouldn't expect her to be dressed like this though. That was probably the main reason for this choice of clothing, but also because she wanted to break free of as many restraints as she could that day.

As if instinctually, her eyes drifted towards the bare back of young man who stood about a dozen feet away from her. She wasn't completely sure why she started moving towards him, but she could have swore that he looked familiar. And there was something about the way the muscles of his back rippled beneath his skin that forced her gaze to remain on them for longer then was specifically appropriate.

Glancing up at the sun, Tre ran his hand through his dirty blond hair making it stick up in all directions messily as he clipped his hat around his belt loop and started pushing the now silent mower once more. His destination, it would turn out, was only a few feet away, a small tool shed barely big enough to hold the lawn mower, not to mention the other garden tools there.

Luckily, he was done for the day.

Lifting the machine easily, he hoisted it onto a higher shelf, sliding it into place with a small grunt of effort. Backing out of it, he muscled the door closed, sliding the padlock home and storing the key in his pocket. Turning back the way he'd come, he sighed, lifting a hand to shield the sun from his golden eyes. There were people around him, a lot of nonchalance that really shouldn't bother him... but did. One girl in particular caught his eye, something familiar in the way she moved, but he shoved that away. Rolling his shoulders again, he turned down one of the many paths and started walking, whistling softly.

Ksenia paused in her step for a few moments, her mouth opening slightly in surprise as she saw the person she was looking at turn around. It was that half wit angel of all people. What on earth was he doing here? The Slushatel hasn't heard anything of her housemate during the summer which she found quite strange.

She started walking again, moving along behind him. Her eyes couldn't help but wander to his bare back from time to time. She was not sure what made her follow him, perhaps it was her widh for more thrill that decided that a boy she did not like would be a good company for one night.

Still whistling, Tre kept walking, going deeper into the wooded area via a smaller, thinner path. Winding through the wood, the Slushatel kept moving, all but disappearing from view until he was gone completely. The wooded area around them was deathly silent, his whistling having faded to nothing. For the briefest of moments, the wood was completely silent, nothing moving.

    Then he was back.

Shoving his follower up against the nearest tree, Tre narrowed his gold eyes at her, bringing them nose to nose and pinning them with his chest. His hands forced her back into the tree, though he was gentle enough when he realized that his follower was female.

It took his gilded gaze a moment to recognize the girl, but his eyes filled with even more distrust once he did, in fact, realize it was Ksenia. She was nearly Lucifer's right hand, and that stuck up little daddy's boy was the heir to 'We Think We're Better Than You' Incorporated. However, as they were mostly Mafia, and nowhere near Mob, he relaxed slightly, not able to take Ksenia as a threat. His arms did not move to release her, however. This revelation was why his voice was less than threatening, and merely curious.

    "Why are you following me?"

Ksenia kept her pace casual, her eyes not straying from Treshawn's back as she followed him further and further. Something drove her forward, deeper and deeper into the trees. She frowned slightly as he disappeared from her view for a few seconds. Taking a few more steps forward the girl looked around. The next thing she knew she was shoved against the tree, the air was pushed out of her lungs by a loud gasp. The Prefect's eyes widened for a few seconds before focusing back on him. Her expression was calm once again as she looked into his eyes. He certainly looked different though she couldn't pinpoint exactly how.

She didn't fight his hold on her, simply studying his expression for a few moments before speaking. "Why were you mowing the lawns?" she asked in return, her tone the same as his.

Tre rolled his eyes, his gilded gaze darkening the slightest bit. "Some of us have to work to get money." He looked back down at her, his hands sliding down to rest on her waist, freeing her arms but keeping her there. "You shouldn't be following me." He said, meeting her eyes as his swirled with indecision. He really should let her go and be gone, but how far away could he get before she called them down upon him? Would it be far enough?

He fell silent, his eyes continuing to search hers for a moment before he pulled away, eyes looking at the forest around them as he ran his fingers through his hair, unintentionally messing it up. "Whatever." He said, and began walking again, moving down the path, father into the forest.

"Killing doesn't pay as much as it used to?" Ksenia raised an eyebrow at him as a smirk slipped across her lips for a few moments. Treshawn was probably the only person who she insulted so openly without thinking in such a great detail beforehand. He was familiar, even though she never liked him he was always not too far away. He was not someone who she had to be nice to and please. He was not included in any way in the politic games that she had to play every day.

Her posture was relaxed, her expression composed as she looked up at him as he held her. His next words however broke her stoicism slightly and she laughed suddenly. It wasn’t the warmest of laughs, but one that noted the cruel irony of the situations the Slushatel found herself in. “If you want to tell me what I need and don’t need to do then you will have to get in line behind ten or so other people,” she said drily.

Ksenia’s breath paused for a second as his hands settled on her hips. Ever since she kissed Valec another side has woken up inside her, one that has been dormant ever since she married Abraxas and it has made her much more agitated and unruly then she was before. Blood rushed to her cheeks as she finally realised that she had been staring at the back of a boy she hated for quite a few minutes as she followed him down the path. She stood there just looking at him for a few moments, completely unused to being so emotionally exposed. Her gaze left his own eyes to focus on the tree that stood behind his right shoulder.

“Wait!” she said sharply. Her hand was wrapped around his wrist, her lungs stopped taking in air for a few seconds as he took a few steps away from her. Her own movements were almost instinctual as her mind tried to work through the haze that was formed by the newly found emotions. Ksenia’s brown orbs settled themselves on the bare arm that she was holding and the girl realized too late that it was the exact opposite of what she was supposed to be doing. The Prefect’s head dropped finally to look at the ground, her hand dropping his own and jerking back towards her own body.

“I’m sorry,” she was no sure what caused those words to slip past her lips, for her posture to become submissive. She bit her lip, her cheeks turning redder then they were before. The girl was completely unaccustomed to being in situations such as this one and that was probably the main cause for her behaving like she was.

"I don't kill people." His voice was bitter, his eyes darkening to almost black in anger before he closed them and sighed. When he opened them again, they were gold, and neutral once more. He looked away from her, watching their surroundings suspiciously. "You should look around and realize you aren't the only one with people breathing down your neck about what you need and needn't do. You aren't the only student stuck where you are, and you aren't the first to be here without a choice. Stop acting misunderstood." He looked back at her, his golden eyes swirling with something unreadable. "At least you're mostly human."

As he made to keep walking, he was stopped quite suddenly, blinking down at the hand wrapped around his wrist. Wasn't she done poking fun at him yet? He had to move before-

An apology was not what he expected. It wasn't the last thing he was expecting, but it wasn't anywhere near the first. "It's okay." He said, letting shoving his hands in his pockets as his decidedly gold eyes slid over her before looking away. "You aren't the first one to make fun of me because I exist, and you certainly won't be the last. It barely bothers me anymore." Shrugging his shoulders, he turned away again, almost taking a step before hesitating.

"You can come if you want. No need to stalk me anymore." His tone had lightened to teasing, and he was in motion again, walking easily down the path. "You can even keep staring at my back, if you want." With a wicked grin, he began whistling again.

Ksenia snorted slightly at his words before sighing. "I am just not used to living like this," she admitted.

"I am entirely human," she scowled at him.

At his next words she couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Oh please, I wasn't apologising of making fun of you." The Slushatel looked up at him, the blush having been controlled, to study him for a few moments. "Do you really think after all of those ways that you have insulted me that I would be the first to apologise?" she asked with a slight frown. Her tone was surprisingly calm. IT was like they have gathered on a neutral ground after a long battle.

She didn't say anything as she came to walk beside him, looking at the trees around them. The blush reappeared on her cheeks at his next words. What on Earth was happening to her?

"Lucky you, all the way human." He said with a small, self depreciating laugh. "It's the illusion of normalcy that's the strongest." He observed, pausing at the edge of a small wooden bridge that crossed over a creek. It was a nice place, the sun through the trees making his hair seem a deeper gold than usual. "Oh? I'm not allowed to be have bad days without everyone judging me for the rest of my life? Thanks." Rolling his shoulders, the boy continued to contemplate the bridge, before his eyes fell to the creek beside it. "At least I'm not the one insulting you every time I lay eyes on you. But it's okay. I forgive you. You don't have to say anything."

Rather than cross the bridge, he moved along side it, moving down the gentle slope to the edge of the water. Once there, he sat on the grass, unlacing his sneakers. Slipping them off and placing his socks inside, he rolled up his jeans to the knees before stepping into the cool water. It rose to below his knees, just as he knew it would. Humming softly, he bent over to grab a fistful of water, holding the small sphere of liquid as easily as if it had been a baseball.

"Hold out your hand." He said, straightening to his full height again. "Palm out."

"I never said my life is normal," Ksenia sighed slightly as they walked on. "It was just......more quiet before." Now thanks to Abraxas her life had turned upside down. She supposed even without him it would only have been a matter of time before things changed.

She raised her eyebrows at him, her gaze remaining cold. "I don't you see you apologising for what you said. And it wasn't just one day. Don't think I haven't noticed you simply ignoring things that you do not find important enough for yourself," her voice was cool as she followed him, her mind was working once again, she was not simply following her instincts any more.

The girl sat down beside him, looking at the water for a few moments. The water was always so calm, so free. She liked watching it. Ksenia's head turned as he addressed her. The last time he asked her to give him his hand was the time they ended up having that big fight. Maybe she was learning something, she knew that there was no need to fight him. Ksenia didn't say anything as she stretched out her hand like he asked.

"You were a job, Ksenia. Not a person. You of all people should know how compassion is a weakness in my line of work. Treating you any better would not have made my job any easier, and you hated me before I said anything anyway. I ignore distractions when working on orders, and friendship would have been a distraction." Pulling his hands slowly apart, Tre let the orb of water hover over her outstretched hand, his eyes trained on the slowly rotating thing. Gently, he lowered it to her hand, keeping his eyes on it as he pulled his hands away. Reaching over and taking her other hand, he lowered it beside the other hand, still watching the water. With a grin and a glance up at her, the boy leaned forward, bringing their hands up to chin height and blowing softly on it.

From the point of where the air hit, the water froze, spreading outward slowly before falling in on itself. Snow, perfectly formed, now laid in Ksenia's hands, as easily as if it had fell from the sky. "Tada." He said, unconcerned with how his hands still encompassed hers. "Some benefits to not being completely human are quite beautiful, don't you think?" He grinned boyishly at her, golden eyes glinting as a slight breeze came and blew the top layer of snow out of her cupped hands. He met her eyes, his deliberating something silently before he started talking again. "I'm sorry I insulted you, alright? You weren't a person before, but since you are now, I guess an apology's in order." He shrugged a shoulder, grinning again. "So there. Happy now?"

"You are not a person who thinks too far ahead are you?" Ksenia cocked her head slightly as she asked the question. "'I didn't hate you. I never liked you, there is a difference. Though I suppose what you say does make sense," she sighed once again, glancing at the river they sat beside.

The Slushatel observed what he was doing curiously. She had saw him manipulate water before, it was quite fascinating. The girl blinked as he took her other hand, not saying anything as she watched. The water transformed, leaving a chilly sensation on top of her hands and real snow. A small smile slipped onto her lips for a few moments as she felt the snow, moved her fingers through it. It wasn't often that Ksenia smiled, especially now. "You forget how to appreciate true beauty in this world," she said quietly, eyes still focused on her hands.

She looked up at him as he apologised, slightly surprised that he had done so. "I suppose I can forgive you. You did help me learn a lot about this Mafia world intentionally and unintentionally," she met his eyes as she said those words. The Slushatel didn't notice how closely together they sat. He was holding her hands right in front of them. She blinked a few times, her eyes going back to the snow. "What are you even doing here?" she asked as she looked back up at him.

"Why bother planning for a future that isn't set in stone?" He asked, his voice dropping. "I've never had control of my future before, and I don't have it now. Might as well adapt." His eyes stayed on hers as he shrugged again.

"Rebelling, of course." He said with a slight grin. "The Mob and Mafia haven't been able to track me down for almost two months now. I think it's a bit of an achievement." He blinked a few times down at her, his gaze caught on hers for a reason he couldn't quite explain before she looked away. He blinked again, golden eyes swirling with slight confusion before he spoke again. "Which is why you shouldn't have followed me. Shouldn't be near me, really. If they catch you near me they'll think you were aiding me somehow. You'd get in trouble." His eyes dropped to their hands, and the snow they contained. Slowly, without his concious effort, it began to lightly snow around them, his powers heightened by her touch and transforming the water in the air into light snowflakes.

"It's you own life. You are the person who control it," Ksenia said simply, blinking at him.. She was surprised that she was saying this to a person like him. She knew that she always had some level of control over her own life.

She couldn't help but laugh slightly at his answer. "I wouldn't have lasted that long," she said with a small smirk. "Rebelling feels very good," she cocked her head slightly once again, studying him. The words that she had just spoke still rang in her mind. There were only a few inches that separated their bodies. It was such a temptation and one that she could not pass at that moment. The witch leaned in to close off the space between them and touched their lips together. The exhilaration of kissing someone she didn't particularly like felt very exciting. She didn't think, she followed her instincts once again. "You don't care about getting into trouble," she breathed against his lips.

Tre froze, leaning into her lips slightly before as his brain tried to comprehend just what in hell was going on. It wasn't until she talked that he snapped out of it and jerked away, dropping her hands as if they burned as he moved back into the river. "What was that for?" He asked, blinking at her. He raised an eyebrow at the girl, and unnoticed to him, the snow had stopped falling the second they stopped touching. "No, I don't care about trouble." His hands found themselves in his pockets, and his toes curled into the pebbles at the bottom of the creek. He flicked his hair out of his eyes with a move of his head, looking away from her.

Ksenia laughed, quite amused to hear his words. "You are acting like I have slapped you," she continued laughing as she watched his beliwerment in amusement, smirking. "One would think that you kissed much better then that," she continued to look at him, her posture relaxed, still smirking. She leant back on her hands as he stood in the river suddenly feeling hot after the snow was gone. "If you don't care about trouble then why are you running away again?" she asked raising an eyebrow at him as she leaned forward.

"I would have preferred the slap, actually. That was kinda-" the word gross was cut off by his suddenly evil smirk, and then he was laying beside her, faster than she could blink. "Why did you kiss me Ksenia?" He asked, his slightly darkened eyes mischievous. "Couldn't resist, eh?"

His smirk widened. "And you've thought about it, if you had an opinion on how well I'd be..." Propping himself up, he wrapped an arm around her middle pulling her closer. "I happen to be a amazing kisser, I'll have you know. And I'll even prove it..."

Leaning forward, he pressed his lips against hers, gently at first, but intensifying it quickly, moving his lips against hers in an animalistic dance. His hand came to cup the back of her head, tilting it to give him better access as he devoured her with his tongue.

"I am just tired of playing by the rules," Ksenia replied to his question, shrugging her shoulders slightly. The girl gasped slightly as she found herself lying down beside him, him being right next to her.

"I haven't though that much. I just observed," she stated, her eyes not leaving his. Her breath hitched slightly. They were so close to each other. She felt her body turning hotter, the exhilaration of touching Treshawn, a person who she always thought she hated, boosted her senses even more, made her instincts further dominate her rational mind. Her hand came to rest on his shoulder almost without her making the decision to do so. The girl's eyes widened slightly as his lips crashed into hers. Her own lips moved of their own accord against hi, her body sliding even closer to his, the hand that wast resting on his shoulder drifted up to run through his hair.

Ksenia moaned as she finally forgot all about what she was supposed to do, the responsibilities she carried and focused on what she was feeling in that moment.

Lips slowing tantalizingly as he lingered, Tre's lips twitched up into an amused grin as he pulled away slightly, his hearing picking up approaching footsteps from the way they'd been headed. "That was probably the best kiss you've ever had." He teased lightly, leaning forward as if to continue before moving away, grabbing his shoes and socks faster than another blink and standing above her.

He offered her a rakish grin, holding the shoes over his shoulder with two fingers. "Try not to imagine that too many times in the future, yeah?" He made to move, before pausing and looking down at her again. "That's the third time you've blushed since we've been here. I'm winning." With those words and a wink he was gone, not a half minute passing before an almost familiar mobster wandered almost nonchalantly across the bridge. The boy was already long gone.

Ksenia stayed silent as he rose, her mind not able to function logically yet. Her eyes were half closed as she looked up at him, listened to him speak. Her body curled up slightly, missing his warmth. The girl sighed as he disappeared from view, wrapping her arms around herself. Her mind was calm as she looked at the river before a slow smirk spread across her lips. That little bit of freedom was worth the trouble, even if it Treshawn, of all people, who she kissed.
