"Hey Lyss." Karma sai, sliding a chocolate frog over to her friend. "What's happening?" She looked down at the half-empty box of Bertie Bott's and shook the whole thing into her mouth, chewing for quite sometime before swallowing all of it with a grimace.

Alessa took the Chocolate Frog Karma gave her and took the card. "I got Herpo the Foul," she said, examining the card. She shrugged, slid it inside her satchel and faced Karma with a groan. "How does those taste like?" Alessa gave Karma a look that clearly states 'ew'. "You've got guts, that's for sure. Hmm. School's been bloody hectic. Classes here and there - can't wait for the term break. I could use a little pranking." She eyed on a few students around the room with an evil smile. "Wanna join?"

Karma snorted. "May I remind you which of us has The Book? Which of us got the other into pranking in the first place?" She ignored Alessa's other question, seeing as she though the answer was obvious. She glanced around the room and lowered her voice. "So what do you think of that fellow we met on the train?" She purposefully left his name out, and she hoped Alessa got the hint.

Alessa rolled her eyes. "Well, of course I thank you for that. That's why I'm inviting you as a sign of gratefulness."

She smirked and leaned in. "He's all right - a bitch temperamental, but I guess that's normal. He's also cute. Mind you, that's just between the two of us, got it? she said, with eyes glaring and one of her brows raised as she said her last statement. "How about you? What do you think?"

Karma shrugged. "I recon there was something abit, off, about him. He didn't seem completely human to me. It could have just been his eyes, but I think it's more than that." Karma pulled out another box of Bertie Bott's. "Add the fact that he's positively gorgeous and a Slytherin to boot?" She started to shake them into her hand before putting her hand to her mouth and throwing her head back, much like she was taking a shot of highly disgusting vodka. She surpressed disgusted shivers and swallowed the whole half-chewed mass.

"I think there's something he can do for the war front, if he's on the right side." She grimaced at the after taste of the beans and took a 'shot' again. "That is to say, the Wizard side."

Alessa looked around the room again. "You didn't hear this from me, but someone from Hufflepuff says that he's half-demon. I think that explains his eyes, but we can't be sure, though. I heard he and his uncle did Muggle baiting during summer - so I guess he can really help the Wizard side. He's really trained - and you can easily say that by looking at his muscles."

Alessa sat straight again and sighed. She shook her head and faced Karma. "Not that I'm really into him, you know, but he looks like the perfect Slytherin to me. Gorgeous, well trained, has swag..."

Karma nearly choked on a bean. "His swag?" She grinned at Alessa. "Way to bring back the old muggle talk, Lyss." She frowned. "A demon, eh? I've never ate a demon before." She blushed. "Uh, I mean, I never fought a demon before. Do you think he'll use that when we duel him?" She dropped the conversation when she realized her firstie was still sitting beside her. "Anyway, Lyss, getting to and from classes isn't as hard as it used to be." She looked pointedly at JJ and nodded to show they'd continue this conversation later.

Alessa laughed. "Yes, swag. I haven't seen any wizard translation, might as well use the Muggle version."

She looked seriously again, and toned her voice down. "I think I've read something about demons somewhere - they tend to overuse their powers whenever they are mad, or moody. But I seriously think that's fictional - they could use their powers whenever they want. So that means we'll need to train harder."

She looked at the first year sitting beside Karma. She cleared her throat and resisted her laughter. "Yes, yes, I guess I was just preoccupied," she said aloud.

Karma smiled. "A little more training never hurt anyone." She sighed. "What, pray tell, were you preoccupied with?" She wondered if she really wanted to know. Alessa was no longer the shy girl who had seeked refuge in moaning murtle's bathroom. Karma supposed she wasn't either. She decided she really did wanna know, and as such, actually did expect an answer.

Alessa slightly smiled. "Oh, it was nothing unusual. Just about my father - y'know, like, I was wondering how he was when he studied here, in this very castle."

Though, it was really more than that. She supposed Karma knows, though she wasn't sure she'd remember. She missed the times she'd play with her father, along with her twin. It's always the same old thing, and somehow, she's starting to think that she's tired of missing her family. After all, when did they ever start on missing her, right?

"I don't know, I guess I just missed my family." Alessa stopped for a few seconds and laughed. "It's kinda weird saying that, really."

Karma raised an eyebrow at her. "Why is it odd to miss a family that you've actually had time to spend with? I miss my family and most of them have been dead since before I was born."

Alessa sighed. "I haven't spent time with them lately, actually. Mum and dad's with Nadine at France. She's studying in Beauxbatons," she rolled her eyes at her last statement. "And my Uncle - the only one who understands me aside from my Grandma - fled during Granny's funeral. And now all I have is the House Elf and Krypton."

Hey eyes brightened. "Speaking of family - how's your grandma? I haven't seen heard from her in a while..."

Karma raised an eyebrow. How exactly did she expect to hear from a portrait? And Grandmother wasn't the type to 'Portrait Hop' as she called it, with the exception of the daily newspaper readings in the Family Room, where she also had a portrait bigger than the others.

"She's still trying to get me to bring home a boy, she doesn't get that I'm only a third year and have plenty of time to find 'suitors' as she calls them. She's still went completely bonkers over the headlines, but the whole family did, really." Karma remembered the hour of yelled complaints that she had endured when the headlines had been read.

Alessa gave out a loud laugh. "I could clearly imagine her saying that," she said without the nonstop laughing. She thought for a few seconds and looked mischievously towards Karma. "Maybe you could bring home demon boy, eh?" she said jokingly, but with her grip on her wand, just in case Karma plans on hexing her or pulling her arm off.

Karma rolled her eyes, actually thinking about it. "I highly doubt I'm his type." she said. "And I don't know if Grandmother would approve, she's still very much into blood." Karma sighed. "Besides, I don't really think bringing anyone home is in my agenda. Seriously, we're on the brink of war. I was thinking of having Headmaster Chaos put a Secret Keeping Spell on my house again, I'm sick of people being able to just walk in."

Alessa smirked. "Really, Karma, who would ever know what's his type? He hardly talks to people around here! And besides, there's nothing wrong with making friends. Maybe we could sit beside him during dinner or something. Socialize."

She nodded. "I agree. It's not safe to let anyone in anymore, much more let them tamper with your belongings. Who knows what those Muggles might do. It's best to be safe - even with your Grandma yelling, they could just easily turn the curtains down."

Karma grimaced at the word 'Socializing'. "I don't think I know how to be socializing correctly with anyone. Candy is how I socialize, not Dinner." She glared at Alessa. "Drop it Lyss."

Alessa smirked. Candy. Figures.
She looked around the room and groaned impatiently. When will the class start? She's particularly excited about this one.

J. J smiled politely at the girl who had seated herself on Karma's other side, and introduced herself quietly.
She seemed nice enough.
As soon as she sat down though, she started in on a conversation with Karma in hushed voices. J. J. tried her best not to listen, not wanting to step on anyone's toes on her first day, but sitting right beside them was hard.
For the most part all she got was that they seemed to be talking about some boy they had met. There seemed to be some more stuff going on in there whispering, thing J. J. felt they wouldn't want over heard, even more than the prospect of a cute boy, but J. J. couldn't hear clearly, and even if she could she felt like she'd probably not want to know.
It sounded like it was more problems and fighting that J. J. didn't want to deal with.
Instead, she want back to her two chocolate frog cards, watching the photo's move and disappear from time to time, hoping that for the most part, this time, she was actually going relatively unnoticed.

"Firstie." Karma said, turning her back on Alessa. "There will be a time in your life when you will see one of these." She pulled out a box of skivving snackboxes, from her very favorite store, Weasley Wizard Wheezes. Triple W was one of her favorite prank-and-go places to shop at, and there was nothing that store had that the Mauraders wouldn't have approved of. She pulled out a Ton-Tongue-Toffee and held it out to JJ in her palm. It looked like a harmless two colored candy. She nodded to it, and indicated both sides. "This side is cure, this side is effect."

J. J. looked at it nervously. This, for some reason, seemed like a very important thing to learn, and remember.
"And," she said slowly, "What exactly is the effect?"

"This one is a Ton-Tongue Toffee. It makes your tongue grow to an obnoxiously huge size and will keep growing until you eat the other half of the Toffee." She pulled out another one. "This one makes you projectile vomit." She showed JJ another one. "And this one gives you an obscenely high temperature." She placed them back into the container then back into her bag. "They're very dangerous, if you don't take the cure. So just make sure no one tries to get you to eat one, alright?" Karma had already went through that once in her first year, and History seemed to like to repeat itself. "This is old Triple W merchandise, they're well into a new product now, but keeping tabs on the old one will help you avoid, or plan, pranks easier."

Anna walked into the classroom, surprised to see people that she had never met. Nat wasn't going to take this class, she knew that. Sighing, she stood at the corner, fiddling with her hair.

Karma glanced at the Ravenclaw girl who'd just walked into the classroom. "Time to Socialize." She muttered in Alessa's direction before taking out a chocolate frog and standing. "Hey Ravenclaw! Heads up!" She through the chocolate at her, hoping she'd catch it. "Enjoy~!" Karma smiled winningly and sat back down.

"Check," J. J. nodded, "Don't eat anything that will make me vomit, fever-y, or have a really big tongue."
She had looked carefully at the shape and colour and was hoping that it was enough to remember.
J. J. felt her tongue nervously as a Ravenclaw girl came and sat down. She liked it the size it was.
